Mmmmm - Willy Wonka!
For anyone who can actually make the connection - Danny Elfman's music for Willy Wonka was AMAZING - it was like "Forbiden Zone" and all his early Mystic Nights of Oingo Boingo stuffs and their live odditites and wonderfulness goodnesses. Mmmmmm Elfman Goodnessesss! Rob kept looking at me funny cause I was giggling like a maniac in joyous rapture with the music having Forbiden Zone flashbacks of my own. We were going to go get the soundtrack after we saw the movie - but the mall we were in didn't have a bloody music store (wtf is that all about?). So we may go and get it later. Jek! If you haven't seen it yet - Turn off your phone, kidnap Artboy and go play - you'll enjoy it! OH and Danny does ALL the singing for the Ooompa Loompa's - (high pitches and low pitches and inbetween pitches o'my) Fuckin musical GENIOUS!!!!

Tim Burtins' Amazing!
Johnny Dep is sportin my favorite hair cut and is quite droolable!
Christopher Lee (apart from still being my mother's favorite Dracula) is a WONDERFUL addition to the trio!
Danny Elfman (grabs pom pom's and starts cheering at his WACKYNESS) *Danny*Danny*Danny*Danny* I can picture him having the time of his life doing the music for this one. a Bazillion years ago, Kawika baught me the Farewell tour live concert on DVD (of which I was lucky enough to get to see the show live with Jek). His facial expressions and silliness just shows how much fun he has with his music and it just EXUDES FUN!!! :) mmmmm Fun music is a good thing!

They did a really good job of putting the book to movie. Added a few things, but I was all in all very pleased with how they copied it. :) If you haven't read the book and have only seen the original movie - you might be wondering WTF for some of the stuff cause it's NOT the same as the last movie - but it did come from the book (about 95% of it anyway - hehehe - good stuff).

So apparently this Quartet are doing another movie.... Corpse Bride - it has the flavor of Nightmare before christmas to it, stop motion animation and all. Johnny and Christopher were among the cast listed - of course Burtin at the helm (I'm assuming Elfman is doing the music - but not confirmed, they just had his nightmare stuff playing in the background of the preview and they didn't give many credits). IT LOOKS YUMMY TOO!!! :)

All it all it was a wonderful day. :) Got my car fixed in the AM a movie in the PM and then actually fell asleep by 7pm (almost normal bedtime hours). Granted I woke up at 2am, but ya cant win em all. We're supposed to be going out tomorrow to get me a hair cut (well all of em cut anyway, just one would be silly wouldn't it), get my toes purtied and then hopefully going to get me a copy of the soundtrack.

Maybe I'll take another tiny nap first though :)

Forgot to mention....

Johnny Depp meets Mr. Rogers. I love how he dives into his roles and makes them his own. He was fabulous! I almost wanted him to go to his lil closet and grab his sweater and indoor shoes. :) hehehehehe

Forbidden Zone's on DVD???
*GASP FAINT DROOL*
Must Have! One more thing that Rob can look at me weird for. That one's so weird, it'd be hard to explain. hehehe :)

And as for the haircut - not not ENTIRELY my favorite haircut - but with the hat on, I can almost pretend it's a bob - and I like that. hehehe (just Cut it and DYE it BLACK). hehehehe

In a very sick and disturbing way - Johnny Depp Made Willy Wonka very Gothic! MWAHAHAHAHA

I dont know anyone else who's as into Danny Elfman and the history of Oingo Boingo other than you (and maybe Sticky) - so after you see the movie you gotta get back to me and let me know if the 'flavor' was there or if I was just smoking the same crack pipe that Tim Burton was hittin. :)

Well old person - go take a nap and I'll talk to you later *BIG HUGS*
